Who are we?
The Yellowknife Gymnastics Club was incorporated
as a not for profit society registered pursuant to the Societies Act of the Northwest Territories in March, 1979 and has been
providing gymnastics instruction to Yellowknife's young people since then. The objective of the Club (YGC)
is to encourage the instruction, practice, advancement and enjoyment of amateur gymnastics, both recreational and competitive.
The YGC has a ten person volunteer board of directors, elected at the Annual General Meeting
in each year. They are drawn from a wide cross section of the community, from lawyers and accountants to teachers and
full time gymnastics professionals.
YCG offers recreational and competitive gymnastics instruction to about 400 young people each year
from the age of two to eighteen. We also have an adult program for the young at heart. Our newest program
is a very popular training program for board sport enthusiasts. Planned for the future are a tumbling and trampolining
program, Arctic Sports and Sport Aerobics.
